Music: favorite artist

I thought it was time to share with you my favorite artist.  When I was eleven years old Get the party started was a hit. I bought the full cd and on a busride to Austria for a skitrip I listened to it on repeat (with my discman, oldskool!). I could sing all the songs along at the end of the holiday. You must know in the mean time I’m talking about P!nk. I loved Get the party started and that’s why I bought the full cd. Now I don’t like it that much anymore, she has way better songs. Since then I bought all her cd’s and still love every single song of her. It just seems that I can find myself in many of her lyrics and that’s what keeps me listening. Her latest album (released in September this year) is called The truth about love. My favorite song is Just give me a reason, that describes a difficult relationship but they are trying to work on it.

With Get the party started she started her second full album, so that made me buy her first album too. When I heard the songs of Can’t take me home they all sounded familiar, but I never knew they were songs of P!nk. Now I keep following her to know when she releases new albums (and buy them immediately) and when she has a concert in Belgium, I’ll be there. Next year in March she will perform in Belgium and I’m happy to have tickets!

Summer readings

This is what I’ve already read during summer holidays. One Fifth Avenue by Candace Bushnell (author of Sex and the City) describes the story of the people who live in the famous building on One Fifth Avenue. You all know the Fifty Shades trilogy, that doesn’t need further explication. The sequel and the third book are ordered at the bookstore, I can’t wait to read them! Lauren Weisberger (author of The Devil wears Prada) tells in Champagne in hotel Marmont the rise of a little singer-songwriter to a popstar. And for the last one, I’ve got to admit that I’m late with this hype.. I’ve just finished the first Twilight novel and the second one is waiting. I’m that kind of person that doesn’t wants to see a movie before reading the book. So I haven’t seen the movies either. I’ve bought it at the beginning of the hype but didn’t find the time, untill now, to read it.

These books are still waiting for me to read. I think my holiday will be too short! Summer and the City is (again) a book by Candace Bushnell about the life of Carry before she met Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. I’m eager to find out!! Lauren Conrad’s The Fame Game is the fourth in her L.A. Candy series.

I’ve already read L.A. Candy, but not the two following novels (Sweet Little Lies and Sugar & Spice). They’re also ordered at the bookstore, so The Fame Game will have to wait a little.

Devoted is the sequel to Elixer from Hilary Duff. I bought Elixir last year because I was curious about what a former teenage actress and singer would write. I was positively amazed and carried away by the story. I cannot wait to read it.

And like I’ve told before, New Moon is the second Twilight book that’s on my to do list. I still have got to buy the last two books. I think I”ll read this one first because I’m desperate to see the movies.

And to finish up, some exciting news. My URL will chance hopefully this week (so honey if you read this, make it quick!) and with that, I’m going to change the lay-out a little as well. I can’t wait to show you the results, stay tuned and I’ll keep you posted!

Love, S.

New in: XXML

Thank you Polienne, Oona and Essentiel! I’ve won this amazing t-shirt (at Polienne’s blog), a Marc Langrange and Essentiel collab. I couldn’t be happier with this, because I’m a big fan of Marc Lagrange. I went to his exhibition at the Antwerp Photomuseum a couple of years ago and immediately bought his book. Turns out the picture on the t-shirt is one of them!

I’m wearing: XXML (by ML & Essentiel) t-shirt, Levis jeans and Zara shoes

This limited t-shirt collection is available at Essentiel.
